A oil rig is filled with people, just like you. All of them eager to make lots of money and make new friends and to get some cool experiences. If you want to work at a place where you will become very close to your coworkers then a job on an oilrig will be just for you. The only question that remains is if you have what it takes to work as a roustabout.
My guess is, since you're reading this, that you are interested in such a job. You should know, that you will find all kinds of people working offshore. There are men, women, old and young, poor and rich, and skilled and unskilled people. You have probably also heard lots of stories about life on the rigs. And maybe, you already know that it's not all fun and games and that sometimes it can be quite dangerous.
Let us take a quick look at what's required of you if you want to work offshore.
You should be ready to leave your friends and family for really long time. Sometimes you will be away from home in up to six months. If you have a wife and kids at home, then you should be sure that it is okay with them, that they will not see you for a while.
2. The work on a oil rig is physical hard, so if you are in bad shape you need to toughen up before you apply for a job on a oil rig. It's not like, you have to be a Iron man or anything you just need to be in a okay shape.
Working on an oilrig is a dangerous job. You often find yourself in situations where things can go very wrong. It's tough why it's so important is that you are able to keep your head clear in these situations. If nothing else, you could compare this to being a soldier at war; you need to be able to make decisions in a fraction of a second.
4. On any oilrig you will live very close to your colleagues 24 hours a day. If you don't have a good attitude just stay that will be very long. The ability to make friends with new people is a skilled that comes very handy in a job like this.
Finally, you have to be dependable. You need to be that kind of guy that your coworkers can rely on at all times. Sometimes stuff breaks and needs to be fixed right away. In such a situation, it is off white building portals that you can rely on your colleagues and that your colleagues can rely on you. That way everything will run smoothly and accidents can be avoided.
If you still think you are up for the job, working on an oilrig could very well be one of the best experiences in your life. You will probably meet some very nice people and some of them will become your lifelong friends. And don't forget that you could easily end up to $100,000 a year.
