There is another part of the "Gold Rush" state which should be noted for cold climate lovers. There are slopes available for all levels of skier from beginner to Olympian. With 75 trails, 20 lifts and 1700 vertical feet, you will find plenty of room for many visitors year round. And, even if there are big crowds, the speedy chains of the lifts will get you where you need to be in no time at all.

The skiing and snowboarding is top notch with well-groomed runs as well as powder runs. But, there are plenty of other things to do besides skiing and snowboarding. Other winter sports include skating and sledding or taking long walks through the wilderness. Strap on a pare of snowshoes and a sign up for a guided tour of the scenery.

In fact, if snow sport is not your thing at all, there are plenty of other things to do including indoor entertainment. There are things for young and old as well. At Big Bear Lake, you can go indoors to many places and sit by the fire in cozy furniture and create a new set of memories. There is not much better feeling than coming in from the cold to a warm fireplace, a big chair and some hot apple cider. But, don't think even that is all there is to do in this place.

Some resorts offer babysitting and child care. In many cases, these services can be utilized on and off the slops, allowing for skiing and snowboarding without worrying if the kids are being properly cared for.

Spend your evenings and nights enjoying five star food and top notch theatrical productions. Your time at Big Bear Lake will be full of things to do and may well wear you down like no other vacation. However, the memories you create will be some of the best of your life.
